The defendants were identified as Vivek Kumar from Bettiah, Bihar, and Lala Bhagat from Assam.

“The caller told me I won ₹25 lakh in a random lottery and the money will be transferred directly to my bank account. He asked me to drop ₹12,200 for GST registration; and ₹25,000 and ₹7,000 for completing some other formalities in separate bank accounts, which I did,” he added.
The complainant added that after transferring the money, the fraudster stopped answering his calls. When he realized he had been duped, he filed a complaint with the police on November 15, 2021.
